Shopping Centre SĀGA will use solar energy

Solar panels in the area of 3,500 m2 with the total power of 499 kW have been installed on the roof of the Shopping Centre SĀGA. The new solar panel park continues the commitment of SC SĀGA to operate in environmentally friendly and sustainable way, to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency. It will allow SC SĀGA to produce 500 MWh of energy per annum and to use it for own consumption.


In the nearest future, SC SĀGA is planning to increase energy production and to expand the solar panel park by another 1 MW.

SC SĀGA is a modern lifestyle shopping centre, which unites shopping, active recreation, quality pastime and office centre. Environmentally friendly habits have been introduced in its everyday operations: saving natural resources, waste sorting, electric vehicle charging possibilities, and now also production and use of solar energy. SC SĀGA will continue to implement also other activities to care for the environment, use natural resources responsibly and minimise impact on the climate.


The area of Shopping Centre SĀGA totals 57,000 m2. Its largest shops include Rimi hypermarket, sports product trader Decathlon, JYSK and Būvniecības ABC. The developer of SC SĀGA is SIA VPH Latvia, which provides for daily management process, centre management and maintenance since 2024.
